Trust and Estate Tax Manager

We are currently seeking a Trust & Estate Tax Manager.

A successful Trust & Estate Tax Manager at Hamilton Tharp, LLP can perform various accounting and financial reporting tasks for specific clients and make decisions on most accounting and tax matters. You will prepare individual, fiduciary, corporate, partnership, and non-profit returns with little supervision in this position. To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will demonstrate Gift, Estate, and Trust Knowledge. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing tax returns prepared by others and assume responsibility for planning and supervising these engagements. Both management and technical knowledge are required for the review and evaluation process of staff accountants and interns.

The Trust & Estate Tax Manager’s proficiency in tax and accounting techniques, including knowledge of the reference sources available to the Firm, the ability to monitor budgets, communication within the Firm, and proactive and extensive client contact, are crucial to this position. Applying extensive knowledge of accounting principles and financial expertise to the daily decisions made when servicing clients’ accounts is critical to the Firm’s reputation as a high-quality service provider.

Knowledge, Experience
& Requirements

Experience & Requirements

  • Accounting degree and CPA license.
  • Five to seven years of experience in public accounting with a heavy emphasis on preparing and reviewing trust, and estate tax returns, and gift tax returns.
  • Proficiency in pertinent IRC sections and regulations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with professional accounting and tax software.
  • Expertise in standard concepts, practices, and procedures in the Accounting field.
  • Experience with SurePrep, Ultratax, or GEMS is a plus!
