A successful Tax Preparer at Hamilton Tharp, LLP is able to perform a variety of accounting and financial reporting tasks for specific clients and make decisions on most accounting and tax matters. In this position, you will prepare individual, fiduciary, corporate, partnership, and non-profit returns with little supervision. Additionally, you will be responsible for reviewing tax returns prepared by others and assume responsibility for planning and supervising these engagements. Both management and technical knowledge are required for the review and evaluation process of staff accountants and interns.
The tax preparer’s proficiency in tax and accounting techniques, including knowledge of the reference sources available to the Firm, the ability to monitor budgets, communication within the firm and proactive and extensive client contact are crucial to this position. Applying an extensive knowledge of accounting principles and financial expertise to the daily decisions made when servicing clients’ accounts is critical to the Firm’s reputation as a high-quality service provider.
